The White House announced that Ukrainian refugees who attempt to cross the U.S. border from Mexico will be prohibited due to a new policy.

A policy from the United 4 Ukraine program will prohibit incoming refugees as of April 25th, 2022, to speed up the process for humanitarian visas for refugees.

Individuals are required to be sponsored and must have up-to-date vaccination records and clean background checks.

Thousands of refugees are given the option to stay in the border city of Tijuana or be transported to a shelter in Mexico City.

The new policy will remain active until May 4th as thousands of refugees seek asylum.
