Two individuals are dead and ten others are injured after a deadly rollover crash involving a U.S Border Patrol chase in Santa Teresa in the early hours of Wednesday in Sunland Park and Santa Teresa. 

The Sunland Park Police Department confirmed the details of this accident which occurred at approximately 4:50 a.m. at the intersection of Airport and McNutt roads in Santa Teresa, New Mexico. Officials believe that approximately twelve individuals were in the SUV when it rolled over causing the death of 2 individuals inside the vehicle. 2 unharmed individuals are believed to be in custody by the U.S. Border Patrol. 

2 out of the 10 individuals involved in the rollover crash were transported to University Medical Center in El Paso via helicopter with critical and life-threatening injuries. The remaining 8 individuals were transported to nearby medical centers with non-life threatening injuries. 

The New Mexico State Police are currently investigating the accident alongside other agencies in the area. 

This isn’t the only Border Patrol pursuit the borderland has faced. This accident has raised numerous concerns for many individuals across the border, especially immigrant advocacy groups.
