The rapid influx of migrants in the borderland has left many migrants in need of common essentials such as food, water, and a place to reside. 

Our community organizer, Lisa Betancourt, set herself on a mission to help refugees in Dona Ana County. 

Numerous donations from community members have contributed to Lisa’s ongoing mission to give back to migrants in need. Alongside the ongoing mission, Lisa delivered bags of donated clothes for refugees to the Holy Cross Retreat in Mesilla Park, NM.

The remaining donations and toiletries were donated to the St Thomas More Catholic Church in Chaparral, NM. 

Catholic Charities of Southern New Mexico will continue to help and support the refugee community!
