Catholic Charities provides help, creates hope, and serves all. As Christians we are called to help those in need regardless of their faith, race, gender, socio-economic status, nationality or cultural background. Also, we are called to be a voice for the poor, who often suffer in the silence of indifference; an advocate for society’s disenfranchised and marginalized; a champion for human rights and the fair treatment of all, especially those who have little or no power.
Economic assistance and counseling for individuals and families in need
With the help of our community partners and volunteers, we provide free mental health counseling services to adults and children who are in crisis. We also provide emergency cash assistance to the homeless and individuals and families who are about to evicted from their homes or apartments.
Financial alternatives to predatory lending companies, as well as financial literacy programs
It is important to educate our community members about how to be more financially secure, independent, and liberated. We are actively working on implementing services to provide financial literacy programs that offer information about the basics of banking, loans, savings and building credit. Additionally, we endeavor to create an economic assistance program for women, especially, to have financial support and assistance so that they may develop their entrepreneurial skills and continue becoming the founders of businesses and nonprofits in our region.
